100% natural, pure vegetable soap base. All of Prairie Meadow Soaps begin with hypoallergenic, pure food grade olive oil. To the olive oil we blend in palm oil, coconut oil, castor oil, cocoa butter, a luxury oil or butter and rosemary oil extract. Our soaps contain only pure, plant-derived essential oils for scent. No synthetic fragrance oils are ever used in our products. No harmful artificial preservatives or colorings, no drying alcohol, harsh chemicals or petroleum products in our soaps.

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis) is loaded with vitamin E and produces a hard, long lasting bar of soap.

Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera) with its wonderful lathering, big fluffy bubbles and moisturizing properties, is used to produce an even higher grade of soap.

Palm Christi, also known as castor, (Ricinus communis) is soothing, rich in fatty acids and is added to produce a wonderfully emollient bar of soap. Acts as a humectant to draw moisture to the skin and hair.

Cocoa butter (Theobroma cacao) lays down a protective layer that holds moisture to the skin, leaving the skin soft and smooth. Great choice for lips, dry or mature skin and stretch marks.

Rosemary oil extract acts as a natural antioxidant and also as a natural preservative.

To create our ultra-mild, non-drying handmade soaps we add additional luxury oils to our vegetable soap base.
This creates what is called a “superfatted” soap. To superfat our soaps we add a generous amount of avocado oil, jojoba, cocoa butter or shea butter for their natural emollient properties.

Avocado oil (Persea Americana) - Pressed from the dried and fresh fruit. A stable oil with a built in antioxidant system. High in vitamins A, B, D and E and rich in lecithin. Penetrates and is easily absorbed by the skin and is moisturizing and nourishing. Wonderful for dry skin, sensitive skin and eczema as it also retards further moisture loss.

Cocoa Butter(Theobroma cacao)– Obtained from the crushed cacao seeds. A natural emollient that adds soothing properties by laying down a protective layer that holds moisture to the skin, leaving the skin soft and smooth.

Jojoba oil(Simmondsia chinensis)– Actually a liquid wax ester extracted from the seeds of a nut-like fruit. High in Vitamin E it is a wonderful moisturizer that has a similar composition to the sebum of the skin and replenishes vital nutrients to help keep skin clear, healthy and supple. Often used in shampoo bars because it is a humectant and holds moisture to the skin and hair. Good for dry skin, psoriasis and most dermatitis conditions.

Shea Butter(Butyrospermum parkii) – Extracted from the fruit of the African Karite tree. Shea butter leaves a protective film on the skin and also helps cell regeneration and capillary circulation. This favors the healing of small wounds, skin cracks and crevices, and skin ulcers. It has restructuring effects on the skin and on dry and fragile hair. Dry skin, dermatitis, eczema, sun burn, burns, and stretch marks are all helped by shea butter.
